I’m leaving a major tech company to launch my freelance career, and Counsel Club gave me the legal foundation I needed to do it on my terms. Within a day, I had a clean, professional contract that reflects the way I work, and I didn’t have to spend thousands on a lawyer. It’s given me the confidence to start this next chapter of my life!

As a pre-seed founder building a nationally loved fragrance brand, Erica needed startup contracts that were actually made for startups — not cobbled together from Google. Through Counsel Club, she was able to access clean, founder-forward legal docs like Terms of Use, a Privacy Policy, Licensing Agreements, and a Consulting Agreement — all designed to help her grow without getting bogged down in legal complexity.

Erica Anderson, Co-Founder

New Savant

We use Counsel Club to create and manage contracts for the freelance creatives we hire—designers, illustrators, and writers. The templates are clear, easy to customize, and fit the kinds of projects we run. It’s been a reliable way to handle contracts without having to involve a lawyer every time.

Counsel Club made it easy for us to generate and manage a set of contractor agreements for a consultant-heavy project. The combination of quality legal templates, a smart interface, and access to lawyer support made it a practical solution for our team.

Counsel Club helped me quickly stand up solid commercial contracts while we stayed lean in stealth. We put together our founder term sheet, NDA, contractor agreement, Terms of Use, and Privacy Policy. I liked being able to make quick edits with the AI agent, and the legal review option gave me confidence without slowing things down.

“We used Counsel Club to generate a dozen contractor agreements for a consultant-heavy project. The platform made it easy to handle repeatable legal work without starting from scratch. We also use it for standard documents like NDAs and service agreements. Having access to both smart templates and legal review has made it a reliable part of our workflow.

I used Counsel Club to create the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy for a basketball app I’ve been building. The platform made it easy to generate clear, comprehensive documents without having to dig through generic templates online. I liked that everything was written with mobile products in mind, and I could tweak the terms to fit how the app actually works using the agent.

Maude

How do you use Counsel Club?

As the founder of Maude, I’m constantly juggling NDAs, influencer partnerships, licensing deals, and creative collaborations. I have lawyers — great ones — but it always felt like I had to choose between doing things fast or doing them right. When we were prepping for a new product launch, we needed to send out multiple NDAs, a licensing agreement, consulting agreements and multiple vendor agreements in a single week. Normally, that would’ve meant back-and-forth emails, legal reviews, and at least a few thousand dollars in fees. With Counsel Club, I answered a few questions, pulled the exact agreements I needed, and had it ready to go in under ten minutes. No delays. No stress. I don't need to boil the ocean for these contracts.

What have the outcomes for your business been?

I’m not a lawyer (although the daughter of one!) and I don’t want to be. But I do need to understand what I’m sending. Counsel Club’s tools make it easy to customize contracts in plain English, and their AI assistant, Amicus, helps me tweak clauses without feeling like I’m going to break something. We still use our lawyer for big-picture strategy, but 90% of the day-to-day — NDAs, influencer agreements, collab terms — we handle through Counsel Club's forms and Amicus's AI. It’s made our legal process faster, more affordable, and way more aligned with the realities of running a modern consumer brand. Legal used to be the part of the business I dreaded. We love our lawyers, but the invoices we get from them can be insane. Now I don’t have to chase down templates, guess what a clause means, or wait days for edits to simple things. I feel confident, covered, and in control — and that means I can move faster, without cutting corners.

How Counsel Club Made Legal Easier

Motus is a fast-growing insurance startup that depends on a dynamic team, from full-time hires to part-time specialists and independent contractors. Daniel needed agreements that were flexible, reliable, and fast. With Counsel Club, he was able to create the exact hiring documents his team needed — including contractor agreements, IP assignment agreements, and confidentiality terms — without slowing down operations or relying on expensive legal review for each role.

What made you trust Counsel Club?

e still work with Kluk Farber Law for larger matters. But Counsel Club has become our go-to for day-to-day contracts. The best part? It’s powered by the same legal team we already trust. It hasn’t replaced our lawyers — it’s extended them.”

How do you use Counsel Club?

When a production company I was working with didn’t have a standard agreement for a documentary option, I wasn’t sure where to start. I needed to update my freelancer agreement to cover a completely new kind of opportunity—and I wanted to get it right. I found a starting point in one of Counsel Club’s templates, which felt like it was actually written for someone in my world. Then I reached out to their Concierge for help modifying the form—and they really showed up for me. Between that and the guidance I got from the assistant, Amicus, I was able to tailor the agreement to the specific deal I was negotiating.

What made this experience unique for you?

I’ve used templates before, but this felt like a real collaboration. I wasn’t on my own trying to interpret legal jargon. I had a system that guided me, a concierge that stepped in with smart feedback, and an AI that helped me understand exactly what I was sending out. It felt like having a legal team on call, without the overhead.

We used Counsel Club to customize a few basic agreements—contractor terms, NDAs, and a services agreement—as we started working with more vendors. The platform made it easy to get clean, startup-friendly versions without going through a full legal process each time. It was helpful to have templates that already reflected how early consumer businesses operate.

As a nonprofit, we needed to get our basic legal agreements in place—things like independent contractor agreements, partnership MOUs, and NDAs—but we didn’t have the budget for a law firm. The platform helped us stay organized and make thoughtful choices about terms without feeling overwhelmed.
